![]() He was preceded in death by his mother, Dean (Allen) Clark by his brother, Pete Clark and by his maternal-grandparents: Howard Charles and Anna (Webb) Allen. Patrick is survived by his son, Aaron Clark and his wife Amber Sigman of Bradenton, Florida by his daughter, Rebecca Clark of Virginia Beach, Virginia and by his grandchildren: Kellen and Logan-Patrick Hickey. Patrick enjoyed coin collecting, camping and reading. Patrick was also employed as a manager for K-Mart in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a semi truck driver for several years and was a manager for various companies. ![]() Patrick also attended the University of Cincinnati for electrical engineering. Patrick graduated in 1969 from Switzerland County High School. He was the son of the late, Dean (Allen) Clark, and was raised in Switzerland County. Patrick entered this life on March 13th, 1951 in Flint, Michigan. Clark, age 70, of Vevay, passed away on Wednesday February 2nd, 2022, at his residence. Burial was at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington. He loved his time on the open water, even when it stormed.ĭuring the same period, he became a certified Teacher of English as a Second Language, sharing his lively, engaging teaching style with students in China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Myanmar.ĭon was a voracious reader and traveler throughout his life, and the world is filled with the deep and lasting friendships he made.ĭon is survived by his wife of 30 years, Eva Topuria-Bevis by his daughter Shannon (David) Morgan by his son Dwayne (Kristi) Bevis by his stepson Cyril Dyakonoff by his brothers: Irvin Bevis Jr., Daniel Bevis, and Kenneth (Karen) Bevis by his sisters: Patricia Duvall and Sherry (Frank) Martinoli by his grandchildren: Adelaide and Emmett Bevis and by his many cousins, nieces, and nephews.ĭon was preceded in death by his parents by his sister Juanita McCaskill and by his brother Robert Bevis.Ī Celebration of Life took place on Thursday, February 10th, at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 East Third Street, Bloomington, Indiana. An avid skier, Don was a founder of the Alpine Ski Club and led its members on trips throughout the United States and EuropeĪfter retiring, Don fulfilled his life’s dream of sailing his Catalina 30, from Mobile, Alabama, along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts to Chesapeake Bay, northward past the Statue of Liberty, and up the Hudson River in New York. He was bold and adventurous, embracing the challenges of so many different pursuits, from competing in the Little 500 for Willkie Men’s Co-op, to hiking the Grand Canyon and Half Dome, to dancing the intricate steps of Argentine tango. But life is a school in itself, and Don enjoyed life to its fullest measure. His passion for science inspired many of his students, including his son Dwayne, to pursue careers in science and engineering.ĭon was endlessly curious and inquisitive, a lifelong learner who began as a student and athlete in Rising Sun and Patriot and later earned a master’s degree in education from Indiana University, Bloomington. He was known and is remembered for his love of the subject, his talent for explaining complex ideas, and for his playful approach to teaching.īeyond the classroom, he coached basketball and founded the Rocket Club, where he shared with students the wonders of our world, from the cave systems of the Midwest to the planets and stars of our solar system. He was a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher who reached thousands of students in the 30 years he taught science at University and Tri-North Middle Schools, both in Bloomington. He was the son of Irvin Wesley Bevis and Ethel Mae (Lester) Bevis.ĭon touched the lives of many different people in many ways. He was born on February 1st, 1946, in Vevay.
